Each property has its own life cycle. First, when the property gets created, it has Test status.
Testing
Test properties are a good way to try things out and learn by doing. The Test status is the initial status before you switch your property to Live mode.
Test properties have the following limitations:
- No real credit cards processing, only test credit cards could be used
- Sample invoices
- Limited number of test reservations
- Limited number of test charges/payments in a single folio
Resetting
While the property is in Test status, you can always reset it and delete all transactional data (reservations, folios, payments, charges, etc.). The whole setup including units, unit groups, rate plans will remain untouched.
Deleting
Test properties can be completely deleted as well. Keep in mind that there is no way to revert it back. Be sure that you delete only properties that you don't need anymore.
In case of error message: delete all extras with the settings: charged per guest, charged per adult, charged per child
Go Live
Once you are done with the setup and you are ready to go live, navigate to Settings -> Property and switch the property to Live status.
Live properties do not have any limits and have features, e.g. charging real credit cards, available at your disposal.
Archiving
When for some reason you are not managing or operating the property anymore, you can easily archive it. This will remove the property from your bills and make it read-only. Meaning you still can access the property and read all data but are not able to create/modify/delete. Open folios cannot be closed and invoices cannot be created/edited anymore.
Archived properties have the following limitations:
- Only read-only operations are allowed
Note: Anyone with Account Admin permissions can manage the property life cycle.
