Connect
How to connect SiteMinder with Apaleo:
- Go to the Apaleo Store, locate SiteMinder and click "Connect App".
- By this time, you would normally have attended a call with SiteMinder and received your SiteMinder Hotel Code. If not, please reach out to your SiteMinder representative.
- Locate rate plans that you wish to distribute via SiteMinder: Rates -> Rate Plans -> Click on the rate plan to see the code. Ensure that the applicable rate plans in Apaleo have the Channel "Channel Manager" enabled.
- Locate unit groups (room types) that you wish to distribute via SiteMinder: Inventory - > Unit Groups
- Send the room and rate codes to SiteMinder to be added. You can also add them yourself.
- Send your SiteMinder Hotel Code to support@apaleo.com
- After you have received a confirmation from Apaleo, proceed with mapping in Apaleo as instructed below.
Note on common mapping errors when you get the room, rate, and inventory codes from the URL:
- For the rate code, do not include the property code. For example, for the Rate plan URL https://app.apaleo.com/BER/rates/rate-plans/BER-FLEX_SGL, the property code, BER, should not be included.
- Do not include the unit code in the rate code. For example, for the Rate plan URL https://app.apaleo.com/BER/rates/rate-plans/BER-FLEX_SGL, the rate code is FLEX, not FLEX_SGL.
Configure
Access
Only users with the following roles have access to the configuration:
- Account Admin
- Property Admin
- Revenue Manager
Rate plans
In Apaleo, navigate to the applicable Hotel and open Apps > SiteMinder to start configuring rate plan and service mappings.
Proper mapping is imperative for reservation processing.
Simply go through all rate plans and select the corresponding SiteMinder rate plan from the drop-down on the right side. You can always remove mapping by selecting 'No mapping'.
When mapping between Apaleo and SiteMinder gets broken (e.g., rate plan doesn't have 'Channel manager' channel anymore), you will see the warning that will tell you about it. To fix it, either remove the mapping or update the rate plan in Apaleo.
Services
Please note that only included services under the rate plan can be sold. Additional services are not possible using the SiteMinder connector.
Activate
When you are done with the mapping, you can finally activate the connection.
By activating Synchronization, Apaleo will start sending real-time availability and rate updates and process new bookings, as well as modifications and cancellations. In order for data to be sent, the rate plan needs to be with valid booking periods and bookable in Apaleo.
FAQs
What does Trigger full sync mean?
This functionality triggers the synchronization of rates and restrictions. It does not import reservations. The import of reservations is managed on the IMPORT tab of the app.
I have a company rate and promo code, will that work with SiteMinder?
No, the connector cannot read company rates or rate plans with promo codes. You can set this on the booking.com side, but in Apaleo they need to be removed.
I have added a company code/promo code to a rate plan. It is still working, but the price is incorrect and availability is not the same as in Apaleo.
Please note that this is expected behavior. When the connection was established, the Rate Plan did not have this restriction, so the availability and prices were from the last time this did not exist. To ensure the price and availability are correct, please remove the company/promo code associated with this rate plan.
