Overbooking Management
Reaching 100% occupancy isn't always easy because guests may cancel or not show up. When this happens, you may have unsold rooms. To overcome this, you can use the managed overbooking feature to achieve full occupancy despite cancellations and no-shows.
You can manage overbookings in the availability section.
For each day, you can define the number of allowed overbookings. You can either define it for a single day:
Or for a given date range:
Another scenario where this feature is useful is when you want to adjust availability without changing the physical inventory. For example, if all your single rooms are sold out or blocked but your double rooms are struggling to sell, you can set a positive overbooking for the single unit group and a negative overbooking for the double unit group. Later, you can assign a double room to new reservations.
Removing Planned Overbooking
If you've added an overbooking of 8 to a category, you can remove it by setting the overbooking to 0.
In the following scenario, the overbooking cannot be reduced or removed because the category is already overbooked by 8:
To remove the entered amount of overbooking (5), 8 reservations would need to be booked into a different category (by changing the booked rate in the travel dates).
