Step 2: Choose Your Training Approach
One you have set up your training hotel, there are two approaches you can take to get your team up to speed on operational topics.
Approach 1: Online Learning in the Apaleo Community
In the first approach, you can make use of the online courses and social learning opportunities in the Community. Your role as the Apahero is simply to coordinate - to ensure that each of your team members has access to the Community and then point them to the right courses and events.
All Apaleo users can access the Community using their Apaleo log in. Once they are Community members, your team can access the following*:
- Online courses: self-paced courses on operational topics, in English and German, in the PMS courses space.
- PMS user webinars: introductory webinars on operational topics, in English and German. Upcoming live webinars will be announced in the events space. You can also access, at any time, recordings of previous webinars.
- Apahero Connect and Automation Club: Live online events for you and any team members with greater responsibilities for your hotel tech stack, to exchange best practices with other Apaleo users. Upcoming ones will be announced in the events space

Approach 2: Training Organized by You
While the first approach is more common, you also have the option for a "training-of-trainer" approach in which you complete the online learning in our Apaleo Community, and then use our training kits to design your own training.
- Training Kit: Reservation Management: For the target audience Reservation Manager and Senior Front Desk. Only the Reservation Manager has the user permissions needed for lessons 5 and 6.
- Training Kit: Front Desk: For the target audience Front Desk, Senior Front Desk, and Reservation Manager.
- Training Kit: Folios and Invoices: For the target audience Front Desk, Senior Front Desk, and Reservation Manager. Only the Reservation Manager has the user permissions needed for lesson 5.
Each training kit contains a plan for several bite-sized introductory lessons. Each lesson contains an overview of the topic; practice activities for your team to do in your training hotel; and trainer notes for the Apahero.
Use these training kits in the way that best suits you and your team. Options include:
- Live training: You or a trained team member deliver the "What you need to know" points for each lesson to the relevant team members and observe the practice exercises.
- Using these materials as a basis for your own materials or Standard Operating Procedures: If you have custom developments or use a lot of apps, your team will probably not use a lot of the Apaleo-PMS features described in these lessons, or will have a more complex process to follow. In this case, it will be worth adapting these materials to cover your specific use cases.
