Any hospitality organization would like to understand how its reservations are contributing to its overall business, and which market segments perform well and which do not.
For this, a market segment code is required in each reservation to classify them and gather business trends, target customers, and track the revenue generated by each reservation for statistical purposes.
In Apaleo, when a reservation is booked, you can link it with an appropriate market segment. This can be done by specific user roles that have the necessary privileges to manage reservations.
As a privileged user, you can select a relevant market segment from the list of available segments of that property (automatically populated for you) and tag it to the reservation.
Finally, accounts can summon the market segment details from each reservation on their properties in order to feed their RMS / other analytical systems.
Few recommendations:
- The user must understand the accurate market segment to be tagged to the reservation based on certain criteria or segmentation rules pre-defined by the account/group administrators, revenue managers, etc.,
- It is recommended to always tag an appropriate market segment code to each reservation and keep it non-empty to benefit from accurate analytics.
- If required, organizations can automate the assignment of market segments to their reservations using various mechanisms like backend scripts, external automation tools, etc.,
