Now folio supports also business dates for payments. Why is it important to see the business date there? To eliminate any possible confusion with the payment date on the folio for merchant outlets. Let's consider the following common scenario when the guest sat till the late night in the bar in the hotel and he (or she) would like pay after 12:00 am (but before 6:00 am). In such case his payment should belong to the previous business date, because the dinner has been started at the evening before 12:00 am. Without displaying the correct business date for the payment the personal in the hotel would be confused comparing the invoice from the bar (which would have the business date) with the folio state where only the processed time would be shown for the current payment.
Business dates are shown by default for both lists - for charges and for payments. But you can switch to the timestamps dates using the View menu button on the folio page to see when charges were added to the folio or when the particular payment was processed, which is really helpful when you would like to see the whole picture of what happened on the folio:
Just to remind you, that for the charges the business date shows the date when a service or a charge will be provided for, applied to or consumed by the guest. Business dates for charges were show as before - nothing has been changed there.
