Business Date vs. Timestamp
All charges and payments on folios have two dates: the timestamp, which is when the transaction was posted on the folio, and the business date.
For charges, the business date shows the date when a service or a charge will be provided for, applied to, or consumed by the guest.
For payments, the business date is relevant in the case of outlets. Let's consider the following common scenario when the guest stays late into the night at the hotel bar and wants to pay after 12:00 am. In such cases, the payment should belong to the previous business date because the dinner started the evening before 12:00 am. The point of sale app connected to Apaleo can accordingly post the payment with the correct business date.
View Business Dates and Timestamps
Business dates are shown by default for both charges and payments. You can switch to timestamps using the View menu button on the folio page to see when charges were added to the folio or when the particular payment was processed. This is helpful when you want to see the whole picture of what happened on the folio.
