All credit cards inserted in apaleo, manually, via Channel manager, via IBE or via Direct connections, are verified by apaleo Pay ( if a merchant is active in the property). It's important to know that Apaleo Pay only verifies if the credit card is valid/active. It doesn't check whether funds are available on the card.
For a better understanding, we are showing you here below the different credit cards statuses that you can encounter when using apaleo:
Guest credit cards:
A private customer credit card was inserted for this reservation and we could successfully verify that the credit card is valid/active when inserted in apaleo.
A private customer credit card was inserted for this reservation, however we were not able to verify the credit card due to various reasons, e.g. the given credit card number is not existing.
In this case you should take actions and ask the guest to provide a different form of guarantee/payment or send a payment link so the guest can pay quickly and safely.
Virtual credit cards:
A virtual credit card (VCC) was inserted for this reservation and the card was verified by apaleo Pay.
This credit card is mainly used by OTA's, where the guest already paid beforehand directly to the OTA.
In order to receive your payment, you can charge the VCC.
A virtual credit card (VCC) was inserted for this reservation, however the card could not be verified by apaleo Pay. This can happen, if the VCC is only valid from a certain time onwards, e.g. VCC from Booking.com that is only valid from the day of check-in. No worries, this VCC can be charged on this certain day and you will receive your payment.
