Credit Card Verification in Apaleo
All credit cards inserted in Apaleo, whether manually, via a Channel Manager, via IBE, or via Direct Connections, are verified by Apaleo Pay (if a merchant is active in the property). It's important to know that Apaleo Pay only verifies if the credit card is valid/active. It does not check whether funds are available on the card.
To help you better understand, we have provided an overview of the different credit card statuses you may encounter when using Apaleo:
Guest Credit Cards
Guest credit cards:
A private customer credit card was inserted for this reservation, and we successfully verified that the credit card is valid/active when inserted in Apaleo.
A private customer credit card was inserted for this reservation, but we could not verify the credit card for various reasons, such as the credit card number not existing. In this case, you should take action and ask the guest to provide a different form of guarantee/payment or send a payment link so the guest can pay quickly and safely.
Virtual Credit Cards
Virtual credit cards:
A virtual credit card (VCC) was inserted for this reservation, and the card was verified by Apaleo Pay. This credit card is mainly used by OTAs, where the guest has already paid directly to the OTA beforehand. To receive your payment, you can charge the VCC.
A virtual credit card (VCC) was inserted for this reservation, but the card could not be verified by Apaleo Pay. This can happen if the VCC is only valid from a certain time onwards, such as a VCC from Booking.com that is only valid from the day of check-in. No worries—this VCC can be charged on that specific day, and you will receive your payment.
