Promotion Codes can be added and removed to a rate plan at any time, either during the set up of a new rate plan or afterwards.
Just like rate plans, promotions are linked to specified booking periods. The promotion is only available during open for sale periods and also only accessible with the promo code. In that way, promotions can be set for a specific period during the year, e.g. a Christmas special during the month of December and January.
The X-Mas promotion for Hotel Munich has been added as a Sub-Rate in the Non Refundable section. It is marked with a 
sticker next to the booking channels on the right side of your screen.
Select a rate plan in the Rates section where you wish to add the Promo code.
Insert the Promo Code you wish to install and click the '+ Add promo code' button. Once the code has been added, it will appear underneath the typing box. Multiple Promo Codes can be added to one promotion Rate Plan simultaneously.
Hotel Munich added the promotion codes 'XMAS20' and 'NY2020' to this rate plan. By setting different Promo codes, the hotel can identify which code triggered more bookings for the same rate.
Reservation Process
It is important to note, that a rate plan with a promotion code is only accessible with this exact code, similar to a corporate rate. When creating a new booking, the Promo code 'XMAS20' was entered and the previously set rate plan is displayed.
This rate will only be displayed, if the Promotion Code has been selected.
After the booking period has expired, the same rate plan can be used for a new promotion with the same or a different promotion codes.
