It's not always easy to reach 100% occupancy as some guests cancel their reservations or they will not come in the first place. When this happens you are left with some unsold rooms. You could leverage the managed overbooking feature to reach 100% occupancy despite some cancellations and no-shows.
You can manage overbookings in the availability section.
For each and every day, you can define the number of allowed overbookings. You can either define it for a single day:
Or for a given date range:
Another case where this feature is useful is when you want to change the availability without restructuring the physical inventory. For example, all your physical single rooms are sold or blocked and your double rooms struggle to sell. In this case, you might want to set a positive overbooking for the single unit group and a negative overbooking for your double unit group. You can then later assign a double room to the new reservations.
Removing Planned Overbooking
If an overbooking of 8 has been added to a category, you can remove it by overwriting the overbooking with 0.
Looking at the following situation, the overbooking cannot be reduced or removed because the category is already overbooked by 8:
In order to remove the entered amount of overbooking (5), 8 reservations would have to booked into a different category (by changing the booked rate in the travel dates).
