This tool enables you to bulk update the rate plans of reservations, which were already created, without loosing the original pricing.
This is especially useful, for use cases like city tax updates in your location. Currently you would go to Settings > Distribution and update the city tax settings. After that you would have to go to the applicable reservations and update the rateplan via Travel Dates manually, so the new city tax configuration would be applied.
This tool will enable you to run the second step automatically over all reservations.
The following steps need to be taken:
1. Change the city tax configuration
You should only do that at the time, when you want the new city tax configuration to be active. New reservations will pick up this configuration as soon as it is saved. In an example, where the city tax changed at the 1st of January 2024, the configuration should be changed late in the evening of the 31st of Dec 2023 or early in the morning of the 1st of January 2024.
2. Go to the Account level and to Apps. There you will find the App " Reservations Rate Plan Synchronization".
Under "Properties" you can select the properties, for which you would like to run the rate plan update, so the new city tax configuration is pulled from the rate plan.
Under "Stay starting from" you can select the date for the stay date of the guest. In our example that would be the 1st of January. Even reservations already in house for some days, would be picked up from this tool. In these cases the previous nights are already booked, and therefore the old city tax was applied. Only future nights would be updated with the new city tax.
Under "Is subject to city tax" you can select if the tool should update all reservations in the property, or only reservations, which are current subject to city tax.
Then you can Run the tool to apply the new city tax set up. This should happen AFTER the night audit of the 31st of December, so that night will already be booked to the folios and only future nights be updated.
